Zuhura Abdul Sakaya

Zuhura Abdul Sakaya is a Tanzanian youth activist who has been campaigning against early and child marriage, female genital mutilation, gender-based violence. Working alongside PLAN International and other activists, she has also campaigned for the amendment of Tanzania’s outdated 1971 Marriage Act, which allows girls to be married as young as 14 under special circumstances, and advocated for education for teenage mothers.
